Young Producers

Pathways to an industry career

Lighthouse  is delighted to announce the return of the Young Producer programme for 2025. We are looking for two enthusiastic and driven young producers who are at the beginning of their career and are excited to get involved in producing and managing live events.  

This scheme will provide on the job experience of producing events as part of Lighthouse’s Poole Pride as well as the NT Connections Festival and other engagement events scheduled for Spring 2025. The young producers will receive regular 1-to-1 mentorship from the Creative Engagement team with a focus on supporting the delivery of their own personal development.  

This is a free to access work placement programme. It is not a paid opportunity. 

Requirements to apply: 

  • 16+ by the start date of the work placement.  
  • Availability across April-June 2025 ideally candidates would be available Saturday 7th June for Poole Pride. 
  • No previous work experience is required but we want to meet applicants with a proven active interest in the creative industries. Applicants should have a deep-rooted passion for arts and culture and be enthused by the opportunity to deliver a high-quality experience for our audiences.

Placement Expectations 

Successful applicants will be expected to begin this placement at the beginning of April. The time commitment is expected to be 1 day per week for 10 weeks on average, but this can be flexible and is to be discussed with the successful candidate alongside considering the needs of the project. 

Applicants must be available for the Poole Pride festival itself on Saturday 7th June as well as the day before and after to assist with set-up/pack-down.  

 These placements will be tailored to the applicants where possible and provide ample opportunity to learn new skills alongside the programming and creative engagement teams here at Lighthouse. Successful applicants can expect to have hands-on involvement in delivering elements of Poole Pride. 

 During their placement they will also have experience in:  

  • Arts Marketing  
  • Technical and operational administration for events 
  • Budgeting  
  • Programming  
  • Live event management
