Dementia Friendly Screenings

Lighthouse is delighted to welcome the return of our popular daytime dementia-friendly screenings, enhanced to meet the needs of people with dementia, their families and friends.

Thanks to the added support from BCP Council and The Leonardo Trust, each month we’ll screen one of your most beloved musicals, packed full of wonderful songs for all to enjoy.

These screenings are open to everyone although we’d like to offer an extra warm welcome to those people affected by dementia, their partners and family members, as well as the people who care for them.

We aim to create a relaxed atmosphere by leaving the house lights on low and the sound down a touch so you can safely move around or leave the cinema freely during the film. Lighthouse staff will be on hand to offer assistance and there will be an interval in the middle of the screening to help ensure everyone is comfortable throughout.

To make it a more sociable occasion, we invite you to enjoy a complimentary hot drink and biscuits before the film – our treat.
