It’s never too soon to talk panto as CBeebies favourite Chris Jarvis found out when he visited two schools in Poole this week.

Chris, who is writing and directing Sleeping Beauty at Lighthouse this Christmas, as well as playing Dame Nanny Nutkins, dropped in to say hello to everyone at Ocean Academy and Longfleet Primary on Tuesday.

As well as news of Sleeping Beauty at Lighthouse, he brought special messages for all teh boys and girls from Dodge T Dog, the CBeebies puppet. He also had an exclusive behind-the-scenes clip to play from Beauty and the Beast, the CBeebies panto that has just finished filming with Chris directing all the CBeebies best known stars.

Chris spoke to around 350 children from Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 at Ocean Academy and another hundred Year 3 pupils at Longfleet Primary.

“It was a real pleasure having Chris visit the school,” said a spokesperson from Longfleet Primary.

“His passion and knowledge about the theatre really inspired the children. It was great to understand what goes on behind the scenes as well as onstage.”
