Lighthouse Poole could be celebrating an ‘incredible’ triple win after being named as a finalist in Business Events Venue of the Year category at the Dorset Tourism Awards.

As a finalist it is guaranteed Gold, Silver or Bronze status, but having won Gold for two years running, hopes are high it can retain the title when at the Dorset Tourism Awards Night on Thursday 6 February at the Marsham Court Hotel in Bournemouth.

“We’re taking nothing for granted, but retaining our title would be an incredible achievement,” says Lucy Funnell, Corporate Development Executive at Lighthouse.

“Lighthouse works very hard to make sure everyone who comes here has a great experience, whether they come to see a show, attend a conference, take part in a course, or present a trade fair.”

As well as its exciting programme of high quality and diverse arts and entertainment from international, national and regional artists, over the last year Lighthouse has been proud to host meetings, conferences, or events for a range of clients including Open University, Diverse Abilities, Tops Day Nurseries, Bournemouth University, NHS Dorset, Dorset Women’s Institute and HM Prison and Probation Service.

“The awards are testament to the exceptional efforts of everyone at Lighthouse who works to create unforgettable experiences for all of our patrons,” adds Lucy.

“Not only are we able to support business users deliver their events, our clients find that hosting events in an inspirational arts space offers them a welcome change of pace from their usual business environment.”

Successful businesses in the Dorset Tourism Awards are considered for the South West England Tourism Excellence Awards in March, and possibly the national Visit England Awards later in the year.
