It’s the most successful show in the history of Lighthouse, by the end of its run on Sunday it will have been seen by more than 10,500 people across 16 shows in our Theatre space.
Social media channels have been buzzing with excited audience reactions and hundreds of fans queued up to use the venue’s bespoke ‘selfie set’ on the first-floor foyer.
“We expected SIX to be a big hit with our audiences, but the response has been absolutely phenomenal – way beyond our expectations,” says Tim Colegate, Lighthouse Head of Programming.
SIX is enjoying a two-week run at Lighthouse, the first time for years a show other than the venue’s annual family pantomime has run for longer than a week. The musical, by Lucy Moss and Toby Marlow, is at the heart of a busy autumn programme that has already seen Matthew Kelly and Liza Goddard star in the new touring production of Michael Frayn’s classic farce Noises Off and continues this month with the hit stage adaptation of Susan Hill’s chilling thriller The Woman in Black.
“There’s another very exciting announcement to be made next week, so watch this space – we can barely wait!” adds Tim.
“Despite the cost-of-living crisis and the long recovery from the pandemic, we’ve found audiences are very happy to return to shows when they know they’re going to have a great time. There’s no shortage of doom and gloom in the world at the moment, so the chance to come out and experience the magic of live theatre is more precious than ever.”
